SANDRA L. OLIVER is the author of
“Saltwater Foodways: New Englanders and Their Foods at Sea and Ashore”
“Food in Colonial and Federal America”
co-author of “Giving Thanks: Thanksgiving Recipes and History, from Pilgrims to Pumpkin Pie”
In 1971 she developed fireplace cookery at Mystic Seaport Museum
and in 1989 Ms. Oliver founded Food History News, a newsletter dedicated to
the historic foodways of North America and a website for food historians. She is also the Food History commentator for the Eat Feed radio show and website.
Dinner: CHSC members and their guests are invited for this special occasion. Dinner available to Members of Culinary Historians of Southern California only. To become a member call the Los Angeles Central Library.
